The project comprises two numbers of potable water treatment plants for Palm Jumeirah. The purpose of the plant is to serve water demand within the island for uses in potable, irrigation and other purposes. The design capacity of the plant is for 32000 cu-m/day (32 MLD). The procedure of treatment will be desalination by reverse osmosis process. Each plant comprises the main potable water tank and different components associated with it including chemical storage tanks, transformer, pump rooms and administrative rooms.
